We get a lot of the same questions from small business owners in Marlborough, Westborough, Southborough, and the wider MetroWest area who are trying to figure out whether they actually need ongoing WordPress help. Here are the honest answers.
What does “WordPress management” actually include?
At minimum, it should include hosting, core and plugin updates, automated backups, uptime monitoring, and basic security. Our care plan runs $300/month and covers exactly that, on top of $1,200/year hosting — so nothing about your site is left unattended between check-ins.
Do I need a management plan if my site is already built and working fine?
“Working fine” and “unmaintained” can look identical right up until they don’t. A site with no ongoing updates is at growing risk of security issues and slow performance drift, even if nothing looks wrong today.
How is this different from just paying for hosting?
Hosting keeps your site online. It doesn’t update plugins, back up your data, monitor for security issues, or make small content changes when you need them. A care plan covers the ongoing work hosting alone doesn’t touch.
Can you take over management of a site someone else built?
Yes — this is common. We start with a quick audit of the current setup (plugins, hosting, backups) before folding it into a care plan, so nothing gets missed in the handoff.
Do you work with WooCommerce stores, or only standard WordPress sites?
Both. WooCommerce sites have some additional considerations — payment gateway updates, inventory plugins, checkout testing after updates — but the core management approach is the same.
What if I need a brand new site instead of managing an old one?
We build new WordPress sites starting at $1,500, then roll straight into ongoing management afterward if you want it — so the build and the maintenance aren’t two separate relationships.
How fast do you respond if something breaks?
Care plan clients get priority response — we’re a phone call or email away, not a ticket queue. For most issues, especially ones caught by monitoring before you’d even notice, we’re already on it.
Is this only for businesses physically located in Marlborough?
No — Marlborough is home base, but we work with businesses throughout Westborough, Southborough, and the wider MetroWest area, remotely or in person as needed.
